About the Organisation
For over 15 years, Esther Shofoluwe, the founder of Greater Grace and the love of Christ Foundation has been committed to philanthropy, compassion and community support, with a particular focus on widows, vulnerable families and individuals experiencing financial and social hardship across Nigeria.
At the heart of the founder is a simple belief: everyone deserves to live with dignity, feel supported during difficult circumstances and have the opportunity to build a more secure future.
The organisation recognises that poverty and vulnerability extend beyond a lack of financial resources. The loss of a spouse, unemployment, food insecurity, limited access to education and healthcare, and the increasing cost of supporting a household can place enormous pressure on individuals and families. For widows in particular, bereavement can be accompanied by sudden financial responsibility, social isolation and difficulty providing for their children.
Through charitable outreach and practical assistance, Greater Grace and the love of Christ Foundation seeks to bridge this gap by providing meaningful support to those who need it most. Its work is centred on caring for widows and less-privileged members of society, supporting struggling families and responding to immediate needs while encouraging greater independence and long-term stability.
Why Our Work Matters
Supporting vulnerable people has an impact far beyond the individual receiving assistance. When a widow is empowered to provide for herself, her children are more likely to experience stability. When a struggling family receives support, the risks associated with hunger, interrupted education, homelessness and extreme poverty can be reduced. When individuals are given opportunities rather than simply temporary relief, entire households can become more resilient.
For this reason, the organisation aims to combine compassion with empowerment. As it continues to grow, its vision is not only to provide immediate assistance, but also to create pathways towards sustainable livelihoods through initiatives such as skills development, education, small-business support, mentorship, community outreach and economic empowerment.
After more than 15 years of service, the organisation remains committed to being a source of hope and practical support within Nigerian communities—ensuring that widows, vulnerable families and less-privileged individuals are not forgotten during some of the most challenging periods of their lives.
Ultimately, Greater Grace and the love of Christ Foundation exists to restore dignity, strengthen families and empower communities—because supporting one vulnerable person can positively influence an entire household and, in time, a wider community
